HJB-Advisory designs tailor-made solutions in risk management, internal audit and compliance.

We specialize on small- and medium-sized enterprises that aim to implement or improve integrated risk management systems. We also provide consulting services to executive managers and board members interested in deepening their expertise in risk management or increasing their abilities to effectively monitor a company.

HJB-Advisory also works with executives in charge of risk management departments.

Dr. jur. Hans Joachim Büsselberg

Dr. Büsselberg is an attorney of corporate law with extensive experience in corporate legal design and risk management. In 1996, he joined the Generali Group Germany as manager of the management group office, and served as counsel to management and board members. In this function, he structured and led a new internal audit department that integrated all previously independent internal audit functions.

In 2005, he joined AXA with the charge of restructuring the internal audit function in Germany. After working for AXA in Paris and New York he assumed the roles as  Head of Internal Audit for Germany and Eastern Europe. As a member of AXA’s steering committee he was closely involved in the Solvency II project.

Dr. Büsselberg has also held various leadership positions in the German Assurance Association. He was closely involved in Germany’s new regulation on minimum risk requirements in the insurance industry. As a board member of the German Institute of Internal Auditors and the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Audit he continues to shape developments of corporate governance and risk management, at the national and European level.

Dr. Büsselberg has worked as an independent consultant since 2012.
